Shipping and Store Information

 

"Unlike many on-line retailers, unless stated otherwise in the item description, items are physically in stock and ready for immediate shipping" 

 

 

We don't sell everything - instead we sell the stuff that we like and which we want to use on our own bikes

 

 

Retail Hours:  Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 1-5 and by appointment

We typically are in on Tuesdays but we reserve that day for also running errands and coordinating production with our builders.  Therefore we are not available for retail visitors on Tuesdays unless arranged by appointment.

 We answer phones almost all the time monday through friday.  So feel free to call anytime and leave a message if you don't get through. We are a small company and can easily assist with special shipping requests or questions. If you are making an order for someone, and you are unsure what you need, we are here to help.  And returns are no problem.  So rest assured.   A sale is only final when the customer is happy!

Unlike some mailorder companies, we like to speak with our customers and are happy to provide guidance and suggestions.  We are known for often talking folks out of items they don't need or which are inappropriate.  Our goal is for our customers to end up with the stuff they need at reasonable prices and with quick service.

On-line Store

The best option for customers who know what they need and are ready to order.  Quick and efficient, most orders are shipped within one business day.

On-Line Store Information

Like everyone should be, we are paranoid about credit card security.  When you pay by credit card, we never see your credit card information as it passes directly through a secured gateway with maximum protection.  If you phone in your order, we take down your credit card info but then destroy it as soon as possible. 

If you can put an item into the cart, that means the item is available.  At some point, were sure, we'll goof and get a count wrong.  We keep the cart updated, and if anything, we're likely to have more of an item in stock than the system shows.   

To pay for your purchase, you can use a major credit card, or paypal.   If you don't have a mastercard or visa, please email us your order instead and we'll finalize your order outside the on-line store and you can paypal us or send a check

Finally, please read the info below on shipping charges.  It really is simple, but we do have an amazing way of making simple stuff seem complicated.  And you won't be tested on it!

Shipping Information

In Step 3 of the checkout process, you will need to select the appropriate shipping option. 

The options that come up will be partly determined by your shipping address.  By you doing this, we can often charge less costly shipping rates than if the system calculated rates by weight.  Note that the shipping charges below are for orders placed through the on-line store.  You may get a better shipping rate if you email or call us when your order is for very small parts.  Note that bulky items such as wheels and frames and bicycles will incur additional shipping charge.

 

Domestic Lower 48 State Orders

You choose the option that best applies to your order

$6 USPS Postal flat rate envelope option      Choose this option if your order can fit into a USPS postal flat rate envelope.  A 5sp freewheel for example, or some track axles, or 100 spokes 306mm or less.  Also choose this option if your order will weigh less than one pound when packaged and can go in a USPS tyvek mailing envelope.  Do not use this option for saddles, racks, and Berthoud bags as they are bulky or weigh more than one pound, so they need to go by the $10 option below.

or

$10 domestic fixed lower 48 option     Bags, racks, saddles, and especially fenders travel for this shipping fee to the lower 48.  The nice thing is the more you buy, your shipping stays the same - we pay the rest! 

In all cases, the fee includes shipping/handling and our guarantee that it will arrive safely.  If your neighborhood is not safe for parcels, let us know.  Also, if your order is large, please include your phone number (FedX requires it) on your customer info. 

For frames - wheels - bikes - don't select shipping now.  Choose the foreign/can't determine shipping option and we'll follow up with you later when we've calculated the shipping.

 

Alaska and Hawaii Orders and non-mainland United States / Territories

Choose either:

$6 USPS Postal flat rate envelope option      (if your order fits into a postal priority flat rate envelope)

or

$10 domestic fixed lower 48 option IF your order will fit into a large postal priority flat rate box 12 x 12 x 5 3/4

or

Foreign/ Can't calculate shipping option.  (Yes, we know that Alaska and Hawaii are part of the US)  If this option is selected, you can proceed through checkout and you won't be charged shipping.  We will then pack your order, and let you know how much it will cost to ship, by email, and you can paypal the balance.  Since shipping can be quite costly (try looking at the US postal service website for prices), you may want to contact us before you place your order so we can figure out together what the shipping charges will be and whether you wish to place the order.

 

Canada

Choose either:

$12 USPS Postal flat rate envelope option      (if your order fits into a postal priority flat rate envelope and has a value of less than $ 200 - included in the fee is our guarantee that your package will arrive safe)

or

Foreign/ Can't calculate shipping option.  If this option is selected, you can proceed through checkout and you won't be charged shipping.  We will then pack your order, and let you know how much it will cost to ship, by email, and you can paypal the balance.  Since shipping can be quite costly (try looking at the US postal service website for prices), you may want to contact us before you place your order so we can figure out together what the shipping charges will be and whether you wish to place the order.

 

Foreign Countries that the US Postal Service Ships To

Choose either:

$14 USPS Postal flat rate envelope option      (if your order fits into a postal priority flat rate envelope and is valued at less than $ 200 - included in the fee is our guarantee that your package will arrive safe)

or
